Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

8 week course and half-day retreat

Time: 10.15am for an 10.30 start, finishing at 12.30

Learning and practicing Mindfullness allows us to become less self-critical, have greater awareness and clarity.  Taking this approach encourages a healthy balance of mental and physical well-being. Mindfulness is recommended by NICE as a therapy of choice for Stress, Anxiety and Depression and it is particularly effective in relapse prevention.

 

Over the 8 week course, and with ongoing practice engaging in regular experiential exercises we can build a new, more helpful relationship to body sensations, feelings, thoughts and other mental events. We can learn to live more in the present moment without getting caught up in the past or lost in future worries, we can then be more aware, have greater clarity and optimise our resources, whatever our individual life challenges may be.


Alongside a wide body of research evidence, the majority of people completing the programme, who maintain a regular practice, report lasting physical and psychological benefits including:

·         An increased ability to cope more effectively with short and long-term stressful situations

Cost £350 per person (price includes £40 per 2 hour weekly session for 8 weeks, a half-day workshop, two CD’s and workbook)


The facilitator for the MBSR course is Mary Younger, she has trained in Mindfulness (both personally and professionally) since 2004; attending many workshops, retreats and teacher training in the UK, Europe and in the US
